With each sketch we get it seems to be more and more fun! When I jumped on the sketchabilities bandwagon this autumn I had no idea how my own scrapbooking will develop, but I have to admit it turns out to become more and more 'me'.  I am a crafter of several diciplines, like paper, painting and sewing. The latest addicition with jewellery seems to fit in perfectly fine. Today its a bit of everything: sewing, fabric, scrapping and ICE resin from my brandnew jewellery hobby. Welcome to another sketch from the lovely Karan Gerber . This time I have been in such a hurry that my layout doesn't look finished. But the more I scrap the more I feel I need to reduce the elements of my layouts to please my eye. This is one of the less is more ones for me. For todays project I have cut a scalloped circle with Spellbinders Die 'S5-072' Blossom Tags and Accents. The circle was cut from a soda can. For the base I painted a corn can after I cleaned it in the dishwasher. Both parts of the small tent have been painted with Brilliance 'direct to surface' technique and heat set! Some of my close friends know that I am a tailor too.  So exploring the possibilities of crafting tools always ends up in another hobby for me. Papercrafting meets sewing, crochet and history of crafts and fashion is woven into DIY projects. To explore beyond means to bring it all together. Eliminate differences and find similarities. Years ago I discovered needle felting for my sewing projects. I loved the possibilities and how easy they are achieved. When I have went deeper into die cutting, I was keen to cut felt for various purposes. But my beloved woolen felt didn't cut properly with my Grand Calibur. Aber um es in diesen 30 Minuten hinzubekommen, habe ich viele Jahre gebraucht! Zunächst einmal werde ich heute nadelfilzen. Diese Technik ist alt, und bei vielen Handarbeitsfans bekannt, gehört aber nicht zum schneiderischen Allgemeinwissen. Auf die Technik wurde ich erst vor ein paar Jahren aufmerksam, als es die ersten "Embellisher"-Maschinen gab. Deren einziger Sinn und Zweck war und ist es, filzbare Fasern in Stoffe zu nadeln. Ich habe mir damals Hand-Filznadeln gekauft und gut gelagert. Und damit herumgespielt, es hat echt Spaß gemacht, doch irgendwann hat man alles befilzt was sich irgendwie befilzen lässt und vergisst die ganze Sache wieder. Todays fiddle friday is about sewing...and card making. For many years there has been a lot sewing on cards now. But because I am a sewer AND a cardmaker, I want to combine my hobbies more often. That was amazing! I participated in the first annual ornament exchange of imaginecrafts and I must admit I have not completely understood how this works. I only kew I have to make two ornaments and get one in return. I have got a partner who will get the first ornament. Then I had to send the second ornament to imaginecrafts for an exhibition of all ornaments at the Winter 2014 CHA Show in Anaheim next january. Sounds like fun, eh?
