Die letzten Wochen waren voll gepackt mit Aktivitäten. Mehrere Messen die es zu besuchen galt, Demos zu geben und Freunde zu besuchen. Die wunderbarsten Dinge spulten fast automatisch vor mir ab und die meiste „Arbeit“ machte ein neues Projekt, welches ich mit lieben Bastelfreunden gemeinsam ins Leben gerufen habe: Katie. Um zu erklären, wer oder was Katie ist, muss ich ein wenig ausholen. Nachdem ich in der Bastelbranche für eine Reihe von Jahren gearbeitet hatte und schließlich auch meinen Stempelladen an den Nagel hing, habe ich das Hobby dennoch nie so ganz aus den Augen verloren. Und als ich wieder aktiv wurde erkannt ich, dass eine Sache immer gleich geblieben war: Es gibt weltweit Produkte die wir alle wollen, kennen, noch nie von gehört haben oder gar gekauft und dann in den Schubladen der Bastelschränke vergessen haben. The last weeks have been so busy for me. Several shows to attend, demos to make, friends to visit. The most amazing things happened and one thing kept me and some of my dearest crafting friends busy: Katie. To explain who Katie is, I need to look back to the decades of my crafting live. After I worked in the stamp business and ran a stamp shop for several years I have never quit that hobby completely. This technique is not new to the stamp enthusiast. But I am pretty sure it is new to all stampers who just started stamping. From my experience, there are new stampers out there every year. And they need to know that stamping can be so much more. Beside printing it can be layering, altering and embossing in other ways than simply pour some melting powder over a wet stamp image. Wood jewelry? Easy as pie! I want to show you what I have done with the cute tiny wood pieces that Imagine Crafts recently sent me for our AIR projects. They are made with monterey pine and not laser cut, what gives the edges a clean and crisp look. Unfortunately I have been looking for a smooth look, hehe. I sanded the edges to make them rounded and colored them with all my favorite Tsukineko stamp inks. Easy as pie. Diese sind aus hochwertigen Hölzern gesägt, nicht mit dem Laser ausgeschnitten. Man sieht das an der schönen, scharfen und nicht angesengten Kanten. Willkommen zu meinem „Ätzglas-Tutorial“. The English blogpost can be found here. Nun ist schon fast ein Jahr vergangen, seit das Team von Spellbinders mich eingeladen hat ein Blog Botschafter zu werden, und für die Rubrik „ Explore Beyond “ (weiter erforschen) Projekte zu kreieren. Almost a year has gone by since I have been invited to the International Blog Ambassador group and met my fellow Spellbinders crafters. This year has been amazing and I have met many new and inspiring friends. I do not know if I will be invited for another year, but no matter what- this year has been one of the best in my life!
