Todays layout for sketchabilities is a bit different. Most of it was made while I was working on a booth at a craft show. The owner, a dear stamping friend of mine, sells her own stamps (some of them with my designs) and basic stamping equipment. Because on each craft show there are so many people new to stamping I keep doing demos with the most elemental technique of all: Embossing. This fiddle friday is all about next sunday. In Germany we will celebrate '1st Advent' then, what means christmas is only 4 sundays away. Thrilling news today! This will my very first blog hop ever and I hope I do it right. After I met the adorable Ken Oliver from Spellbinders earlier this year, I found so many new friends in the Spellbinders family that I feel extremely honoured to play with them today. My focus today will be on recycling. I love to use material that comes cheap or for free. By using packing material for crafts, I minimize waste and save money. If you want to make useful and pretty recycled projects, it always pays off to use the best tools and craft materials!  Because I often recycle plastic and foil, there is one ink I never could live without: StazOn! It is my one and only ink for 'non porous surfaces' and works for lots of ideas and projects. Since StazOn was launched by the manufacturer Tsukineko I never found a substitute. Todays fiddle friday will show you a simple technique how you can stamp a mirror image with your favourite die cut image. For more english please scroll down. Am heutigen Frickel-Freitag zeige ich euch, wie ihr mit eurem Lieblings-Stanzmotiv ganz einfach ein gespiegeltes Stempelbild herstellen könnt. Die Idee, mit Stanzen auch zu stempeln, ist ja nicht neu und ich habe euch bereits HIER gezeigt. Vor ein paar Tagen sah ich eine wunderschöne gestempelte Karte mit der Spiegeltechnik, bei der ein Stempelabdruck auf eine Gummifläche gedruckt wird um damit wiederum einen zweiten, gespiegelten Abdruck zu erzielen. Dabei kam mir in den Sinn, dass man das ebenso mit Stanzformen machen kann, wenn man hübsche Motive in seiner Sammlung hat. No craft or card today, just a simple picture I can finally show you: Keine Bastelei oder Karte heute, nur ein einfaches Bild das ich euch endlich zeigen kann: For over a decade I am working with products of the manufacturer Tsukineko. In 2001/02, when I ran a stamp shop, StazOn has been introduced. Before StazOn stamp pads came out there has been the new lovely Brilliance. Both pads changed my stamping projects forever, because I finally could realize craft ideas that have never been possible before. 10 years after I closed my shop I still work with StazOn and Brilliance. I recently saw the call for a new team of artists for ImagineCrafts/Tsukineko and sent my application. Getting into this team would be a dream come true. And it happened! I continue with my christmas cards, I want to make 50 this year, and today I show you card 6,7 and 8. I made some very simple cards with my Spellbinders Poisettia die. I bought this die last year, but couldn't cut felt with it until I got the new metal shim, which is really helpful to cut any difficult material. Dabei habe ich eine sehr einfache Karte gebastelt, die es aber in sich hat: Die Filzblüte wurde mit einer Spellbinders Stanze geschnitten, die ich bereits im vergangenen Jahr gekauft hatte. Meine Idee, damit Filz zu stanzen, musste ich aber begraben, da dicker Filz sich nicht stanzen ließ und der dünne fiel an den Blättern des Weihnachssterns auseinander.... It's fiddle friday: Today I want to show you a fun idea that I had when I visited a home decor shop this summer. I saw one of these cube calendars made from wood, and wanted to make my very own ever since. For more English please scroll down. Es ist Frickel-Freitag: Heute zeige ich euch eine spaßige Idee die ich hatte, als ich diesen Sommer einen zauberhaften Laden für Heimdekorationen besuchte. Ich sah einen dieser Würfelkalender aus Holz, und wollte seitdem meinen eigenen basteln. Bei diesen Kalendern liegen 2 Holzwürfel deckungsgleich auf 3 rechteckigen Stäben. Zunächst habe ich ausgerechnet, welche Maße der Kalender haben muss. Für die 12 Monate braucht man 3 eckige "Stäbe" mit jeweils 4 Seiten, und natürlich 2 Würfel, logisch. Das ergibt automatisch eine Kantenlänge der Stäbe von 2mal Würfel/ ein Drittel Würfel/ ein Drittel Würfel, is ja klar. (Matheleistungskurs, weisste). Today it's only 50 days until christmas, did you know that? I haven't sent any christmas cards for over 10 years, but since I started to stamp again I feel the need for another round of joy with stamping. For more English please scroll down. Heute sind es nur noch 50 Tage bis Weihnachten, wusstet ihr das? Ich habe seit über 10 Jahren keine Weihnachtspost mehr verschickt, aber seit ich wieder angefangen habe zu stempeln möchte ich das wieder ducrhziehen. Damit ich mir selber den ein oder anderen Tritt in den bequemen Po geben kann, habe ich mir vorgenommen in 50 Tagen 50 Karten zu basteln. Heute habe ich angefangen, und die ersten 5 fertig gestellt. Ich habe bisher (in meiner aktiven Stempelzeit) immer eine Karte gemacht und diese 30-40 Mal gebastelt, das spart Zeit und Gehirnschmalz. Todays fiddle friday will tell you a little bit about german traditions. Yesterday the english speaking world celebrated Halloween, and kids went from door to door asking for sweets. In Germany we have a similar tradition, called "St. Martin" and kids do the same thing, but for a completely different reason. For more english please scroll down. Gestern wurde ja in USA Halloween gefeiert. Als Verkleidungs-Freak schaue ich mir immer gern die tollen Kostüm- und Dekoideen der Amis an. Aber mit den Kindern von Tür zu Tür zu ziehen um nach Süßigkeiten zu fragen käme mir nie in den Sinn, es sei denn wir feiern St. Martin. Ich weiß, diese Tradition der Martinssinger ist auch in Deutschland nicht überall auf die gleiche Art und Weise verbreitet. In dem kleinen Ortsteil in dem ich wohne wurde das bereits begangen, als ich selbst kaum laufen konnte. An einem Samstag der zeitnah zum Martinstag liegt, spricht sich die ganze Ortschaft ab und alle Kinder gehen gemeinsam. Ein großer Pulk ...
