Today I want to share a quick card layout I made for my friend Yvonne, owner of the stamp manufacturer " Stempelschmiede" . The cute girl you can see on the card is one of my older stamp designs , but because I rarely used it I have been keen to play with her.  Every month I share a technique or card idea on Yvonnes blog, and today I want to show the "paper piecing" again that I have introduced in one of my latest posts . It's a well know technique to all paper crafters, and I hope you like my variation. I pieced the skirt of the girl (let's call her Heidi, a typical german name) with lilac paper and added a second layer for her apron that I stamped on glossy white cardstock. Another fiddle friday. Believe it or not, todays technique is made in seconds but it took me all day to figure it out. I tried 3 other techniques before this one, hehe.  Embossing with a die cut machine is not new. My crafting friends and me did it in the early days of home cutting machines back in 2000. But often crafters use folders, bought or selfmade, to emboss. When I visited a medieval fair this spring I saw a craftsman embossing some copper with wire. Wer mich kennt, der weiß wie sehr ich gewisse deutsche Firmen liebe. Allen voran Burdamode, neudeutsch "Burdastyle". Ich gebe hiermit offiziell bekannt, dass meine Liebe zu Burda erloschen ist. Denkt was ihr wollt, aber sie haben eine Idee aus meinem Blog abgekupfert und das finde ich doof. Links seht ihr die Kastenhülle vom letzten Jahr ( blogpost:klick ). Vergleicht mal hiermit: Burda Kastenhülle . Ich gebe zu, dass man so was simples wie eine Husse für einen Getränkekasten schwerlich völlig neu erfinden kann, aber mich macht das stutzig. Todays fiddle friday technique is all about "what can I use for stamping without buying a stamp?" We all love and buy a lot material for crafting, but you should always keep in mind that you can expand your material and techniques with things you can find everywhere: In your kitchen, your wardrobe or even the waste bin. For the foam scrap stamp I used some left overs from foam cutting. Making stamps with foam is not a new idea, stampers do that for decades! But when I stamped my background paper yesterday I thought about swirls and circles, and that's what gave me the inspiration for this quick and easy idea. For more English please scroll down. This week is a busy one for me, so not much blabla today but a quick try to layout another  photography. As I told you before, I need to practice. During my research I found the blog "sketchbook365" . Their motto is "we do it every day" but I really doubt that. ;-) For more english please scroll down. Heute aus Zeitmangel nur ein schnelles Layout, denn wie gesagt will ich das üben. Beim herumsurfen auf schönen Scrap-Blogs stieß ich auf das Blog des Magazins "Scrap365" und die Zahl soll suggerieren, dass man täglich scrappt. Ohne mich! So viele schöne Fotos habe ich ja gar nicht. Ja ok, hab ich doch *grins* aber nicht genug Papier um die alle zu bekleben. Denn nach wie vor sind viele der Layouts, die mir gefallen (auch die simplen!) mit einer Unmenge Dekozeugs beklebt. Wie machen die das? Ich kauf mich ja schon halbtot, aber das geht echt zu weit. Three posts on one blogday...that's my personal record! But the upcoming week will be so busy and I don't know when I have spare time to blog. So...sorry. Now or never! In January I visited a trade show in Frankfurt and met Ken Oliver from the company Spellbinders. This incident had a deep impact on me. Many others will approve that he has an outstanding personality in the creative world. But I don't want to praise Ken too much, I don't know if he can take it. ;-) He made me take a deeper look into the world of die cut machines and their possibilities. And I met some other extraordinary creative persons I already have spoken about and will refer to as my new friends even now and then. I have to admit that they all are "virtual" friends so far, but I hope and believe that people who have to meet in their life will meet. No matter how or when. Based on the contact to all those talented people I felt myself to be a bit boring, old fashioned and outdated...

Todays fiddle-friday wants to show you an old stamp technique. But as I recognized there are so many stampers out there who never saw some of the basic techniques. Aber auch alte Hüte sind für manche neu, und beim "Paperpiecing" sah ich kürzlich erst, dass selbst gestandene Stempler nicht alles kennen (können). Paperpiecing ist natürlich englisch und bedeutet "Stücke aus Papier". Bei der simplen aber spaßigen Technik wird ein Motiv auf verschiedene Papiere gestempelt und aus Teilen der Papiere auf der eigentlichen Karte zusammengesetzt. Dabei kann man unifarbene Papiere benutzen, wie in meinem Beispiel, aber auch gemustertes Papier, und zum Beispiel der Oma ein Blümchenkleid verpassen. Before you ask: Yes, I know what CAS is. It's NOT cute. But this weeks challenge at CAS-ual friday asked for travel related cards, and this image was waiting for it over a decade now! I designed this stamp in the late 90s and honestly never knew what to do with it. I had to draw it for the joke "Hamsterdam". You get it? No??? Dare you! To force my hamster into CAS I kept with one colour! Hope you like it. CU and hugs. Bwaahahahaha, und wieder so 'ne überkandidelte Karte und sowas von un-CAS. Aber wenn das Challengeblog CAS-ual friday nach "Reisethemen" fragt, was soll ich da machen? Der Hamster musste raus! Ich finde das Blog sowieso genial, und bin neuerdings dort regelmäßiger Leser. Und irgendwann schaffe ich das mit dem CAS, da bin ich mir sicher. *kicher*
